Referral letters, imaging, NDIS details if relevant, and recent reports. Wear or bring usual footwear.

Play-based or sport-specific assessment, gait analysis where indicated, and collaborative goal setting.

Parents receive notes promptly. Where appropriate, I liaise with NDIS, schools, coaches, and your health team.

Dr. Antoni Caserta (PhD)

With over 15 years of dedicated paediatric experience in podiatry, Dr. Antoni Caserta has spent his career helping children and families understand, manage, and overcome concerns related to gait, pain, and lower-limb development. His practice is grounded in evidence-based care, clear communication, and a genuine passion for supporting children to move confidently and comfortably.

Dr. Caserta spent 14 years at Monash Health, where he led the Paediatric Gait Clinic, co-consulted closely with physiotherapists, and later served as Allied Health Research Advisor before transitioning into project management roles.

Dr. Caserta has worked across a number of dedicated paediatric clinics, collaborating with paediatric physiotherapists, orthopaedic specialists, paediatricians, and paediatric rheumatologists. These strong referral networks reflect the trust placed in his clinical judgement and the outcomes he strives to achieve for every child he sees.

Dr. Caserta is currently a senior consultant at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), contributing to state and nationwide initiatives aimed at improving early childhood health and education systems.

His PhD focused on paediatric gait pathology, contributing to a growing body of work that includes numerous peer-reviewed publications in gait and musculoskeletal research. He continues to advance the profession as Chair of the APODA Paediatric Special Interest Group, and is regularly invited to speak at state, national, and international conferences on paediatric foot and gait conditions.

Throughout his career, Dr. Caserta has been honoured with several awards and fellowships, including:

  • Outstanding Achievement for a Young Podiatrist (APODA)
  • MRFF Grant Investigator
  • Department of Health – Allied Health Leadership Development Program
  • MedTech Victoria Fellowship

In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Caserta is a sessional lecturer in Neurology at Monash University, supporting the next generation of clinicians in developing strong foundational skills.

Above all, Dr. Caserta is committed to helping children stay active, confident, and healthy. He looks forward to partnering with parents to support their child’s development, wellbeing, and long-term movement health.

PD, mentoring & work opportunities

Clinic PD at Footlab+ Knox or onsite

Available for PD sessions and mentoring. Prefer 4+ months’ notice for calendar planning.

Expressions of interest

Open to podiatrists keen to grow in paediatrics. Roles may be created as demand grows; mentoring provided.
