Paediatric Podiatrist · Melbourne & Geelong
Experienced care for children with complex developmental needs, disabilities, and young athletes. Thorough assessment, clear communication, and genuine advocacy for your child’s development and health.
15+ Years Paediatric
I work at the complex end of paediatric podiatry - children whose needs go beyond routine care. If you've been told to see me, you're in the right place.
Comprehensive care for children whose foot and gait concerns require deeper understanding of their overall development, health systems, and support needs.
Performance-focused care for adolescent athletes dealing with pain, injury, or biomechanical concerns that are limiting their potential.
With over 15 years of dedicated paediatric experience in podiatry, Dr. Antoni Caserta has spent his career helping children and families understand, manage, and overcome concerns related to gait, pain, and lower-limb development. His practice is grounded in evidence-based care, clear communication, and a genuine passion for supporting children to move confidently and comfortably.
Dr. Caserta spent 14 years at Monash Health, where he led the Paediatric Gait Clinic, co-consulted closely with physiotherapists, and later served as Allied Health Research Advisor before transitioning into project management roles.
Dr. Caserta has worked across a number of dedicated paediatric clinics, collaborating with paediatric physiotherapists, orthopaedic specialists, paediatricians, and paediatric rheumatologists. These strong referral networks reflect the trust placed in his clinical judgement and the outcomes he strives to achieve for every child he sees.
Dr. Caserta is currently a senior consultant at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), contributing to state and nationwide initiatives aimed at improving early childhood health and education systems.
His PhD focused on paediatric gait pathology, contributing to a growing body of work that includes numerous peer-reviewed publications in gait and musculoskeletal research. He continues to advance the profession as Chair of the APODA Paediatric Special Interest Group, and is regularly invited to speak at state, national, and international conferences on paediatric foot and gait conditions.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Caserta is a sessional lecturer in Neurology at Monash University, supporting the next generation of clinicians in developing strong foundational skills.
Above all, Dr. Caserta is committed to helping children stay active, confident, and healthy. He looks forward to partnering with parents to support their child’s development, wellbeing, and long-term movement health.
My clinics are set up for assessment and management—not procedures. Here's what I do and don't see.
Note: My clinic rooms aren’t set up for procedures – no treatment tables or surgical tools. For these concerns, another podiatrist is often more appropriate as the first point of contact.
Referral letters, imaging, NDIS details if relevant, and recent reports. Wear or bring usual footwear.
Play-based or sport-specific assessment, gait analysis where indicated, and collaborative goal setting.
Parents receive notes promptly. Where appropriate, I liaise with NDIS, schools, coaches, and your health team.
Each clinic is set up for the type of care I provide. Choose the location and focus that suits your child.

I see children with complex presentations - developmental delays, disabilities, neurological conditions, and adolescent athletes. For routine concerns (warts, ingrown nails, mild flat feet), another podiatrist may be more appropriate as first point of contact.
I regularly present PD sessions for clinics and professional groups on paediatric foot and gait conditions. Sessions can be tailored to your team's needs. Require at least 4 months notice.
